Juan Antonio Pérez Simón is a Spanish businessman and art collector, who owns over 3,000 paintings, including works by Dalí, Goya, El Greco, Rubens, Van Gogh and Monet. At the age of 5 he and his family moved from his native Spain to Mexico, where his father started a business and Pérez Simón learned the basics of commerce and accounting. Pérez Simón’s passion as a collector appeared at the relatively young age of 20, when he started to collect Mexican landscape paintings. In 2014, 50 paintings from his collection were placed in London’s Leighton House Museum as part of the exhibition A Victorian Obsession: The Pérez Simón collection. In 2010, Paris Match described the collection as the largest in private hands in the world.
