Tibor Huszár was a significant Slovak photographer. Under the council of Professor Ján Šmok, he graduated from the Department of Photography at the Film and TV School at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. During his studies, Huszár worked for different magazines and media outlets. Additionally, he documented stage life, and in 1983, he won the World Triennale of stage photography in Novi Sad, Serbia. In the early nineties, Huszár left for New York, where he worked as an independent photographer while teaching at Columbia University and New York University. He published photographic books titled “Gypsies” (1993), “Koloman Sokol” (1998), “Portraits” (2000), and many others. He tutored a photographic studio of students of the Faculty of Mass Media Communication at the University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava.
